Occupation (2010-ongoing) is an exploration of the many cities and towns I have lived in and travelled to: Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Calgary, Chicago, Edmonton, Lake Louise, Liverpool, London, Los Angeles, Milton-Freewater, New Haven, Niagara Falls, New York City, and Walla Walla. The series examines how perceptions of cities, towns, and architecture are transformed through the act of walking since walking allows attention to be paid to the small peculiarities of a specific place in different ways.

Through the use of fragmentation, abstraction, and a focus upon formal elements in the Occupation series, the locations of these urban spaces become indistinguishable from each other. However, for me, each image holds memories of my experiences of that particular place: why I was there, what I did that day, how I was interpreting my surroundings, etc.
