VAMPIRES TO ZOMBIES: THE SUPERNATURAL IN ART, FILM & TV
Tuesday April 18, 2017 to Tuesday May 23, 2017
Supernatural 1

An affordable online seminar about supernatural creatures in film, television and art from 2000 to the present.

Small enough to be completely participatory.

3 to 6 students per seminar.

Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm (MST)

$200 for 6 week course. $35 per class drop in fee ($150 or $25 per class for limited income)

This lecture & discussion non-credit seminar will take place online via Adobe Connect. Optional readings are provided and there are no assignments.

Your only homework is watching one television episode and one film prior to each class!

April 18: Vampires with Angel & Only Lovers Left Alive, 2013 (Germany)

April 25: Werewolves with Teen Wolf & Ginger Snaps, 2000 (Canada)

May 2: Ghosts with Ghost Hunters & The Orphanage, 2007 (Spain)

May 9: Demons with Supernatural & Cabin in the Woods, 2011 (US)

May 16: Witches with Witches of East End & Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, 2009 (UK/US)

May 23: Zombies with The Walking Dead & Shaun of the Dead, 2004 (UK)

Full seminar fee due on April 14 via Interac e-transfer or Paypal. Drop in fees are due via E-Transfer two days prior to each class.

Dr. Kristen Hutchinson is an art historian, visual artist, curator, and art consultant. She received her PhD in the History of Art from University College London in 2007. Kristen has taught art history courses at universities and colleges in Canada, the US, and the UK. She is currently writing a non-fiction book about supernatural creatures in contemporary art, film and television.
