By signing up for this seminar, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
This seminar provides opportunities for discourse about potentially difficult topics and sometimes discourse can lead to tense discussions. I require respect towards, not agreement with, all opinions in our virtual class space. This seminar is dedicated to the fostering of a safe and respectful academic community in which all voices are considered equal.
Consequently, all students are expected to conduct themselves according to high standards of mutual respect within our virtual classroom. These standards include silencing and putting away all cell phones for the duration of the class, refraining from disruptive behavior such as talking during lectures and video screenings, and when other students are speaking during discussions. Please respect the rights of each student, and the instructor, to speak without interruption. While I encourage vigorous debate between differing opinions, all questions and differences of opinion should be framed in a constructive and professional manner.
Homophobia, biphobia, misogyny, sexism, racism, and transphobia will not be tolerated. You will receive one warning if you contravene these rules. The second offense will lead to you having to leave the class. No refunds will be provided.
