For Garage Show: a fast & dirty exhibition, we exhibited three Edmonton artists (Robert Harpin, Adriean Koleric & Emily Soder-Duncan) within two residential garages in Edmonton, Alberta in August 2011. Playing with the idea of the garage sale, the artists created installations that interact with these rudimentary spaces.
By placing contemporary artworks within these garages, Garage Show questioned the values we place upon objects, explored the human compulsion to collect and order objects, blurred the boundaries between artistic and commercial objects, and examined the ways that objects become embedded in our collective history. The two-day exhibit opened with a tailgate party.
