Wallpaper (2011-ongoing) is a series of small collages that explores pattern, colour, and texture through a variety of subject matter: landscape, urban spaces, architecture, figuration, flowers, textiles, and animals. Although each collage in the Wallpaper series measures 8.5 x 7.5 inches, it is interesting to imagine what a room would look like if it were covered in wallpaper with these quilt-like collage patterns.
Typical of my collage practice, images are appropriated from diverse magazines and repositioned to question how mass produced imagery delineates what we consider to be beautiful and creates desires for the objects, people, and lifestyles that we crave to possess.
